It is with great pride that ISGC of Monterey endorses a new “vegan restaurant”.

Veg On The Edge is a “vegan restaurant” with West African influences. Akindele Bankole (founder) worked in the restaurant business for a number of years before he decided to take the knowledge he acquired and apply it to a refreshing restaurant concept he was really passionate about.

Thus, Veg On The Edge was born. After a lot of hard work and fine tuning his concept and building his team, Akindele was able to launch his dream. We, his faithful followers thank him with every bite!

Akindele’s passion is the driving force behind Veg On The Edge. His passion for delicious, healthy eating is the reason we have a wonderful Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher and mostly organic restaurant in Abbot Square Market in Downtown Santa Cruz today.

Akindele’s dream, We hope to be able to spread our good will, with our delicious, healthy food throughout the communities we are part of.”

Compassion in every plate! Is the motto they cook by!

Stephen and I are beyond happy to have a new Vegan/Gluten-Free, Kosher, mostly organic restaurant near us. As Vegans, it’s very hard to eat out as most restaurants do not cater to our dietary needs.

Akindele is a long-time friend, that we dearly love. His food is simply delicious. Every dish is beautifully plated and his food is filled with flavor and love. You will not be able to help yourself, it will be love at first bite for you too!
